Twinkle Toes

This is especially for M & E
(Music Teacher's Daughters)

DIY Twinkle Toes / Glitter Toes

Take ANY colour nail polish you have at home & glitter from the $store... (all that glitter was $1!)

Working one foot at a time, paint your nails and pour glitter all over the wet nails. If you pour the glitter over a piece of paper it is easy to dump the extra glitter back into the container for your next project. LIGHTLY tap the glitter into your polish being careful not to smear it.

You can put a top coat on if you'd like to last a bit longer.

All you need is one bottle of nail polish and glitter... we have a drawer full of glitter so will have beautiful twinkle toes all season!
(Music Teacher, if you want a mess free project send the girls outside and the wind will take care of all the extra glitter that might not make it back into the container :)

I look forward to CJ's spelling list every week! She writes some of the best sentences, check out #6 . . .

"I'll always memorize what love feels like."

With summer approaching (yay) we will be having lots of time for fun and posting more often so we've been thinking of some theme day posts . . .

At the Lake

We had one nice day while on spring break and joined friends out at the lake... the kids thought it was great to dig in the sand, walk in their bare feet and check out all the creepy crawlies in the water (whatever they were there sure were A LOT of them!)

Good times on the playground...

CJ brought her BFF to hang with...

And an incredible pot luck lunch! It may have been a mistake to leave CD at the table with all the food!

There were even left over marshmallow Peeps to roast on the fire! Who knew roast chick and roast bunny would taste so good (teehee).

Mmmm, my first ever S'meep!

We had a great afternoon and left just as the big dark rain clouds rolled in! Thanks for organizing our fun day Sassy and the Sprout!

Future Fashion Designer?

We were given a box of
craft goodies the other day.

Cd picked this out, pushed out the middle, added a flower and said

"It looks like a hat from the Royal Wedding!!'
(I actually think it looks better than some that were there.)
Pretty good for my dear 3 1/2 year old!!
That kid cracks me up!!
I think you can just tell from the look in those eyes...

Moto-Moto said her eyes have the same spark that mine do and that's what hooked him!
Oh dear, we are in TROUBLE!!

Look how CJ can pull off this look!
Gorgeous girl!!

Scholastic Book Sale

If you click on the photo you'll be able to see the dates and times better! Have fun!

Seven Minute Frosting

Just for you Sassy!

Seven Minute Frosting
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup water
2 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (I would use less OR put in 1/2 tsp of almond extract)

In top of a double boiler (with a mixer at high speed) beat for about one minute.
Place top of double boiler over the rapidly boiling water. Continue to beat at high speed until soft peaks form (for 7 minutes... it may take a little longer)

It will look like whipped, melted marshmallows...
we REALLY like it on angel food cake frosted the day before and leave it out so that the frosting gets all crusty on the outside but gooey underneath!!
