Halloween Fun

This weekend we were busy with all kinds of Halloween Fun. Saturday we did some experiments with this:

CJ was thrilled with her witch's potion.

Then we made this little unit to make "ghost bubbles."

The picture doesn't do them justice but, the CO2 fills up the bubbles and if you are wearing gloves you are able to hold and bounce them! It was lots of fun.

Here's where I got the idea from www.stevespanglerscience.com/product/boo-bubbles. If you click on the video you'll be able to watch how they are made.

Today we were off to a Halloween Party hosted by Sweet Sassy and Baby Boo. Here`s CJ with her hostess gifts:

Sassy went over the top for us to have a great Halloween Howler! There was a photo shoot set up for some great Halloween Photos.

Games

Dancing - CJ learned all kinds of new moves - the Moonwalk, the Sprinkler, the Shopping Cart, and the Monster Mash.

Crafts

And there was so much FOOD! Check out her blog soon to see more photos! Sassy, it was amazing! I`m glad we were able to come, thanks for having us! We are so glad to have made some new friends!

Grow Your Own Black Cat

It seems everyone is making a stop at Michaels but we haven't run into anyone we know yet ~ we were there getting a few things and CJ picked this little black cat to grow.

It started pretty small, we'll let you know how big it gets.

She loves cats and we are lucky enough to have our furry dear Mac who we lock in his room downstairs for Halloween night. We don't want him out and about like he tried a couple of years ago. Luckily he came right back when I yelled "You get back in this house right now!" Of course CJ still dresses him up in her teddy bear's clothes.

I love Mac too, after all doesn't every good witch need a black cat!?

Haunted Gingerbread House

CJ decorated her Haunted Gingerbread House last night. I put it together for her with our homemade gingerbread and she did all the rest! She did a great job on it. It is so much fun creating things with her whenever we get the chance to. It is still hard to find time to do one on one things with her since little sister CD was born so I was glad that we got this one accomplished.
She worked very hard at getting it just right.

Here is the finished haunted house with a very proud designer.

And little Miss CD doing one of the things that she does best, sitting all cute.

Early Trick or Treaters

Look at the little cuties that are on my steps waiting for some Halloween goodies. Okay, so they are not really children but CJ and I had fun putting them together. We were glad to get them done and outside before the "S-word" comes. Hopefully it will hold off until after the 31st!

A few days ago I posted a picture of what they started out as ... a couple of buckets, duct tape (good for EVERYTHING), plastic table cloths, little treat bags, some old pants & shoes and VIOLA a couple of "Too Cute to Spook" friends to welcome everyone who visits. Sassy was right! Something for outside. What little friends will all of you whip up?

Fall Photo Shoot

We decided to shoot a few fall pictures before the snow falls. We missed the warmer weather when the girls were inside with colds, CD still isn't over hers but this was our last chance. Here's what I was able to catch before the girls froze.

I have to find a way to get the graffiti out of CJ's pictures.

Hmmm, What Will This Be

So we wanted to make something but we are missing some supplies. We should have a small box and a ball but will use buckets instead. I wonder how "it" will turn out?

Halloween Countdown

Here's our version of the Pottery Barn Halloween Countdown Calendar. Online at Pottery Barn Kids it started at $59, WAY too much for me to spend on a little felt and yarn so I whipped one up in a few evenings. It turned out pretty good I think. I'm not sure if we'll include the dates on ours or not.
We threw on some webs for added spookiness. I decided not to fill the whole thing with candy so some of the spaces have little notes for activities (Dutch Grower's Pumpkin Maze, Baby Boo's Halloween Party by sweet sassy studio, cookie decorating at Michaels.) After all CJ doesn't need lots of candy! And CD is only 11 months old with 4 teeth so she doesn't get any!

This is why ...

So you've been wondering why no more posts . . .
Well, our house was hit with the fall cold and flu bug. We are on the mend now and ready to get back at it. We should have our little Halloween project finished for tomorrow's post!
