St Patty's Day

Hope you wore your green today and had a lot of fun.

This morning we found that a
naughty little Leprechaun visited our house.
He hid CJ's Olympic Loonie and then got into the flour.
Tricky little guy make "snow angels" in the flour
he spilled on the counter and left CJ a cute little treasure hunt clue to find her Loonie. CJ thinks he must have been a new Leprechaun and cleaned his shoes before running all over our house because she didn't find any little green footprints this year!

Miga necklace

Crafty CJ wanted to make an Olympic necklace so dug through all our beads and came up with this:

She took apart an old beaded necklace for part of her charm, remembered the shrink art I used for another project and made a teeny tiny littl
e Miga to hang at the bottom.

She is so talented! I love when we can
spend time creating together!
I told her someone is going to ask her
"Who brought that from the Olympics for you."

She lit up when I told her to tell everyone that SHE made it!!

Olympics

Go Canada Go

The girls are really enjoying watching the Olympics!
It is pretty funny to watch CD yell
"hurry hard" at the tv during curling and
CJ yells "shoot" when Canada has a scoring ch
ance in hockey.

On one of the coldest days we had this week of holidays,
we stopped for another very quick photo sho
ot in front
of this mural at a goalie store in town.

It was all I could get in 2 minutes.
Hopefully it'll warm up on a day when Moto-Moto is home
so he can run block/ security for us on the busy street.
I'd like to get all of 'Canada' in a sh
ot
with CD looking so it'll take some tim
e!

I wonder what other great mural walls we have around town?!

Character Dining

We treated the girls to a few Character Dining experiences while on our trip. Moto-Moto's favorite meal was at Chefs de France at Epcot. We didn't tell the girls who would be visiting our table so they were greatly surprised when a cart came to our table, the waiter lifted the lid and there was Remy from Ratatouille!

CD thought he was so cute and loved how he squeaked back to her and nodded his head.

Check out how she is waving at him!

This is one of the few shots on our trip that CD is actually looking at the camera!

CJ enjoyed visiting with Remy too! He spent lots of time at our table (mostly because I blocked him in! We were seated at a corner and to get a good shot of CD interacting with him I pulled out a chair, put it right in front of the cart and had CD stand on it. Teehee)

CJ's other favourite was discovering that we love Creme Brulee!! We hadn't tried it before but since we were in "France" we thought we should. CJ and I nearly devoured the whole thing while Moto-Moto took CD to the washroom.

We had such fun on our holiday! I am so glad that I have over 1700 pictures to help us remember! Plus over 300 photos on our PhotoPass cd, that should be arriving this week!
Plans are to go back in 4 or 5 years. Moto-Moto wants to drive to Florida!!

Disney World 2009

We made it! It took a lot of planning and saving but we got our family to Disney World!! It was a fantastic trip!! Very busy and a lot of people but FUN! The weather was not what we had expected! Florida was experiencing near record cold weather and had freezing warnings most everyday, expect a price increase on oranges! Most mornings it was reporting 24F with the windchill. Now we are fine with cooler weather but in Florida I had planned on sun and warm!! The good thing was it seemed to keep the crowd levels down!

We met every possible character there was to meet, went on as many rides as possible (when I say rides I mean the slow moving, entertaining kind not the thrill kind)! Our family is usually up early so we went to the parks for opening ~ MUST DO! We walked on to almost every ride and attraction we wanted! Later in the afternoon at Epcot for example the wait time was 220 minutes for Test Track, the same ride that Moto-Moto had a 10 minute wait for earlier that morning!!

At Disney Studios CJ discovered that she really likes animating and is super good at it!! After her session with an animator she asked for their sketch and brought it home too! Similar sketches in the gift shop were priced $35-45!

CD posing at Rock 'n Rollercoaster (just like her namesake Dave!) Moto-Moto also rode this one with a 5 minute wait! Key is going early people!

We went to all 4 parks, saw the ocean at Sarasota in the Siesta Keys (beautiful beach!), were taken into a very
questionable neighbourhood by our GPS, had a couple of character dining experiences, took over 1700 photos, were treated to a Magical Moment, tripped and sprained my ankle on the last night there AND

had a Magical time!

I love how everywhere we went the girls were called princesses and we were told to have a magical time! Get your piggy banks ready, we are going back in 5 years!!
Thanks to everyone for your tips, gifts and help to make our trip such a good one!

Kisses for Cupcakes

Little Cakes a la Saucy!

The girls were once again treated to little cakes from Saucy.
CD has Saucy curled around her little finger & is happy to exchange kisses for cupcakes!
Sassy & I agree it'd be a cute teeshirt!

These beautiful little treasures are what
we enjoyed after supper ~
one for each of us.

I tucked the girls into bed tonight, told them to have sweet dreams and think up names for each of the Little Cakes we enjoyed. They really are mini works of art!

We love your little cakes Saucy!
Anytime you want us to taste test them our Mommy will drive us over!

Thank you for my Little Cakes Saucy!

Christmas Projects at Studio 13

The girls and I were so fortunate to spend some creating time with
Sassy & the Sprout at Studio 13.
The girls created so many wonderful pieces out of clay!!

CD made many little ornaments that are now hanging on our tree, a few magnets and a one of a kind piece of artwork that I'll cherish forever! She went to work with a piece of clay and every little tool that Sassy handed her!

Sassy showed CJ how to make the cutest little bowls!
These little masterpieces are going to make a lot of people happy on Christmas morning!

Thanks again for sharing your time and studio with us!
We created a couple of special gifts in our own workshop for
Sassy & the Sprout that we delivered today!
Pop on over to Sassy's blog to check out what we made.
